Having had Malaria while on an island in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Mombasa, I can tell you that it is hell. In fact, I was hallucinating that it was hell and I was asking God to please just let me die so that I could leave that hell. And yes, I was taking preventative medication (prophylactics.) So…

If you are traveling to a Malaria-area, I would always bring one of these. Even if the room has screens, which most do not, the screens may have holes, or the mosquitoes might just come in the door!

And even if bed nets are provided, they may have holes as well.

So string this compact net up, and wrap it around your mattress.
Works well to keep scorpions and spiders out too!

Note to couples: Buy a bigger double net!
