Headlamp

Description

I would not bother packing a headlamp unless you are planning on:
Night hikes to see glow worms in New Zealand.
Spelunking in caves in the Canary Islands, Spain (which is the only place you spelunk, in caves I mean.)
Walking through catacombs of Paris, France
Or some other dark adventure.

Otherwise, you can just use the flashlight on your cellphone. That said, we do carry one, and have used it to:
Find the shared bathroom in a guest house,
Check under the bed for forgotten items when checking out, and
Hands-free activities, like reading and sewing.
