Our Story:
My name is Dina. My husband, Mitch and I had been on the capitalist treadmill for 30 years, working to live, burning the candle at both ends and grinding ourselves into dust. We could just not seem to get ahead. We were not enjoying our lives. Our relationship was stressed, or more like non-existent, since we hardly had any time together, or if we did, we were so tired, we were just cranky and wanted to buffer with food, or alcohol, or Netflix or all three!
I knew that all the busy work I was spending my time doing was getting me nowhere, fast. So I went on a quest to find alternative lifestyles. An “alternative lifestyles” search on Google turned up a lot of different types of sexual orientation, which was not what I was looking for.
How do you figure out what you want?
There is a whole process I went through to discover what I wanted, (and I will share a worksheet with you,) but I decided I wanted a simple, relaxing lifestyle in exotic places while giving back to the world. My perfect day would look like: work on my computer in the morning, then walking out my door into a beautiful place to go explore, eat fabulous food and meet wonderful people.
I did research and discovered that I could live in many places in the world less expensively than in the US. So, on my crazy idea, we sold our house, both our cars (well, actually we gave the Volvo to our foster son and daughter-in-law,) sold, donated, and gave away all of our stuff, (except for a few plastic bins full of clothes and some photo albums which are in our parent’s basement,) and left the USA.

Why this website?
We have been on the road for a year now, and love it! We have seen exotic places, met wonderful people, eaten awesome food and have learned much in the process. We have made lots of mistakes but we are so much smarter now! That’s why I feel passionate about helping those who want this kind of freedom to escape the rat race and achieve their dreams!
And I want to share all that knowledge and experience with you to help create a future where you have the means and confidence to go out and do good in the world!

Why am I qualified to help you travel?
I have traveled to many places using many modes: plane, train, bus, truck, and boats of every size.
Using the ‘political borders’ definition, I have been in 25 different countries, (not just a layover in an airport.) I have lived in tents, camper vans, hostels, homestays, shared a local person’s home and rented our own apartment.
I feel country borders are arbitrary, so more specifically, I have VISITED (for at least a week,) 46 different regions around the world. By regions I mean environmentally and ethnographically different places. (Example: I visited both Delhi and Rishikesh India, which are very different regions.)
Of those 46 regions, I have “LIVED” (meaning, spent more than a month living like a local) in 15 regions of the world, plus 8 regions within the USA. (Example: New Orleans, Louisiana is very different from the coast of Maine.)
